Meet Pastor Lockett

Rev. Rodney Lockett serves as Senior Pastor of Tremont Temple Baptist Church, Macon, Georgia.
Lockett’s approach to ministry and life is “to see us glorifying God by making disciples for Christ, to serve this present age.”
Some of his favorite pastimes include spending time with family, sports, as he is a Dallas Cowboys fan, movies, learning all things new, and ministering and helping people. He has a heart for youth ministry. Lockett is a teacher of the gospel in the pulpit and through Bible Study as he empowers Christians and non-Christians who want to learn the word of God.
Lockett became a licensed minister in November 1999, and an ordained minister in August 2007. Lockett attended American Baptist Theological Seminary.
Lockett served as former Senior Pastor of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Thomson, Georgia from December 2009-August 2023. He is founder and serves as Executive Director and President of The Rock Ministries of Thomson and Rock Ministries, Inc., with the mission of connecting, equipping, and empowering the community to address, improve and solve the various social, educational, economic, spiritual and health problems that plague the community.
He also served as Senior Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church, Macon, Georgia from January 2008 – November 2009. Lockett most notably served as Pastor’s Assistant at Lizzie Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Rev. Ronald G. Toney from 2001 until 2009. During his tenure, Lockett provided leadership with street worship in the community, prison ministry training, and drug addiction classes.
In the community, Lockett has served on the University of Georgia Thomson-McDuffy Archway Partnership, Crisis Line Safe House Board of Directors, Family Counseling Center of Central Georgia, Middle Georgia Suicide Prevention Coalition, and field liaison for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In addition, Lockett has been affiliated with the NAACP Macon Branch as 2nd Vice President, Union Baptist Missionary Association of Middle Georgia, General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, National Baptist Convention, USA Inc., Baptist Ministers Union of Macon, Emergency Management Agency, and the North Central Health Education Task Force.
Rodney Lockett is a native of Macon, Georgia. He recently is married to Kaneka Harris Lockett of Macon, a licensed real estate professional, and together they are the blessed and proud parents of 15 children, and 22 grandchildren.
As entrepreneurs, the Locketts are the owners of Locketts Lens, LLC, a photography business that focuses on the beauty of the world and the people who reside in it.
